The Super Bowl-winning New York Giants were honored Tuesday with the traditional ticker tape parade downtown. That has some returning Iraq war veterans wondering: Where’s our moment of thanks? “If a football team gets a parade, shouldn’t our veterans?” the founder of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America asked in The New York Times. Pentagon brass reportedly told Mayor Michael Bloomberg they believe it is inappropriate to host a parade for Iraq vets in the city’s Canyon of Heroes while American soldiers are fighting in Afghanistan.
